Welcome to the Swiss Young Stroke Physicians' Organisation
Dear colleagues,
The Swiss Young Stroke Physicians' Organisation (SYSPO) is a Swiss society of young stroke physicians and stroke researchers and has been founded in February 2010. The SYSPO is a non profit organisation and the junior partner of the Swiss Stroke Society. The SYSPO unites young neurologists, neuroradiologists, neuropaediatricians, neurosurgeons, and neuroscientists interested in stroke and cerebrovascular diseases.
Stroke continues to be a major public health concern, with more than 15 million strokes occurring each year worldwide. Cerebrovascular diseases remain among the leading causes of disability and death in developed countries with a high social and economical burden. Stroke does not affect only the elderly but also young adults and even kids. The aim of the SYSPO is therefore to reduce the incidence and impact of stroke by performing professional and public education, outstanding research and institutional changes.
We hope to enable a common platform for learning, teaching, and exchange of idea and expertise in order to promote and develop future stroke care and education in Switzerland. If you are interested in the SYSPO, please to not hesitate to contact us. Young physicians working in Switzerland with interest in stroke care and stroke research are warmly welcome to join the SYSPO!
